OUT OF LINE
Rule-breaking. It is refusing to stay in its lane. A crumpled field of paint-splattered paper erupts from a rigid black-and-white striped canvas. Weird and beautiful. The only one of its kind.
Out of Line is a 12" × 12" mixed media original built on a deep-profile canvas of hand-painted black and white stripes. Rising out of that strict, graphic order is a sculpted form of crumpled paper, fortified with plaster and ink-splattered in a chaotic monochrome field. The paper has been crushed, reinforced, sealed, and worked until it no longer reads like paper at all. It throws shadow, catches light differently from every angle, and rewards looking twice.
Up close, the surface reads like weather: creased, pitted, layered. From across the room, the contrast lands like a punch: rigid stripes interrupted by something stranger, looser, and more alive. It's the kind of piece that starts a conversation the moment someone walks into the room and notices it.
Signed with a red maker's mark in the lower left.
