Service Description

April is Earth Month — a perfect moment to pause, create intentionally, and explore what it means to make art that honors the materials around us. In this hands-on, two-part workshop hosted by Oh, SAND! Art Studio, you'll craft your own original 3D wall art using textiles, plaster, and paint — while discovering the philosophy of upcycling: the idea that beauty doesn't always require something new, just a fresh perspective on what's already here. The workshop takes place over two separate sessions: Part 1 on Saturday, April 26th, and Part 2 on Saturday, May 17th. As part of the process, you'll have the opportunity to weave salvaged materials into your design — a chance to see how forgotten textures and found elements can become the most interesting part of a piece. How it works: In Part 1 (Saturday, April 26th — 2 hours), you'll learn to layer, shape, and build the foundation of your artwork. You'll experiment freely with form and texture. Once your piece has cured, you'll return for Part 2 (Saturday, May 17th — 1.5–2 hours) to sand, refine, and apply surface finishes and paint effects that bring your design fully to life. A few details: This is a two-part workshop — your registration covers both dates (April 26th and May 17th) Open to all skill levels — no prior experience needed Limited to 8 participants for an intimate, unhurried experience All materials provided Hosted in a relaxed garden at Imasala Collective You'll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece made entirely by your own hands — and maybe a new way of looking at the materials already in your life.
